RUSAL says invests 870 mln rbl to upgrade production unit SKAD
MOSCOW, Dec 15 (PRIME) -- Russian aluminum producer RUSAL has invested about 870 million rubles in the upgrade of its SKAD foundry and mechanical plant, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The measures are aimed at increasing labor productivity, improving quality control and increasing production of wheel disks,” the statement read.
During the upgrade, the workshops and the main technological equipment along the production chain were overhauled, new casting machines and new equipment for the mechanical processing of aluminum disks, as well as new equipment for in-line quality control of each disk were installed.
The upgrade of the painting line alone has boosted production by 130,000 wheel disks per month, the company said.
